A Stunning Statistic

Sitting here watching the Colts game and reading an article in the Indianapolis Star. I read a very similiar article on Tuesday of this week. Out of all the Indiana high schools who competed in Indiana Football in 2008, only 41 players received D1 scholarships. Let me repeat that……ONLY 41 PLAYERS RECEIVED D1 SCHOLARSHIPS. This, of course, made me do a little research to see just how many Indiana high schools are playing football. That total is 348. So you factor in, on the average, each team has at least 40 players….

348teams x 40players (team average) = 13,920 total players

Out of that 13,920, only 41 received D1 scholarships…. WOW. Thats less than a 1% chance that your son will receive a scholarship.

LESS THAN 1%!!!!!!!!

That, my friends, is a stunning statistic. Lets indulge in this further….. consider your powerhouse schools – Ben Davis, Warren Central, Center Grove, Carmel, HSE, LN, and others has players that receive the bulk of the “attention”…. where does that leave your son? Does your son attend one of these schools? Is he the star on the team? Is he getting all or any attention? Is his name flooding the papers? Probably not…

In this economy, I hope you are fortunate to have a job to take care of your families. Are you prepared to send your son to college paying (at a minimum) $12K+ a year (pending where he goes) for the next 4 – 6 years? Lets see….$12K x 4.5 years.. = $54,000!!!!!!! Thats some serious debt on you OR your son pending how you pay for school.

Have you really done what it takes to prepare yourself? If not, give us a call. Let us, at least help you put your son in a better situation.
